Why going to church is important! Pt 2

Attending church helps our wisdom.

Hebrews 10:25 - "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

Have you ever wondered where our blessings go? God wants us to have a relationship with Him. To know where your blessings are, you need to ask yourself - Am I praying enough? Reading my Bible enough? Having fellowship with God enough?

Satan doesn't want you to fellowship with other christians and God. He doesn't want you to read the word of God or to increase your faith with a relationship with Jesus Christ. There's nothing better in this world than serving and having a relationship with Jesus.

Matthew 18:20 -"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

There's a lot to be said about attending church and being faithful.

Psalms 111:10 - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear is the respect we give to God.

Proverbs 1:7 - "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

How are we going to show respect if we don't attend church?

If you don't want to grow in faith and get to know God, then don't go to church. But if you find excused to not having a relationship with God then the devil will have won. We come to church for the wisdom, instruction, and power of God.

There's many reasons to come to church but the devil makes as many reasons to not go to church.

God appreciated the faithful who come to church to worship HIm and hear His word. Come to church for the worship. We need to lift Him up in praise and you can't do that at home.

Luke 4:15-16 - "And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all. And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read."

Who better to follow than Jesus. When He was tempted by Satan, He used the word of God to fight back.

Proverbs 22:6 - "Train up a child in thw ay he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

You're doing your kids a disservice when you don't bring them to church. They learn when they see you setting an example for them by bringing them to church, so they can build a relationship with God. If for no other reason, do it for your children.

Romans 12:15 - "Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep."

Find out what God wants you to do in the church. Get a reason to do something in church to glorify God.

"Stop telling God how big your problems are and start telling your problems how big your God is." (Joseph Simmons)

2 Corinthians 5:10 - "For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ; that ever one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be  good or bad."

This is important, if you've got a talen to use for God's glory and you don't fulfill what He wants you to do, there will be a judgement for that.

Matthew 25:14-30 - "For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one ; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. and likewise he that had received two, he also gained another two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents; behold, I have gained beside them five talents more. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them. His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gethering where thou hast not strawed: And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."

No matter how big or little, if God tells you to do something, then don't hide the talent. Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God. If we don't use our talents to glorify God, we will be held accountable.
