Is fear your friend?

Psalm 111:9-10 - "He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever."

The fear of God is important in our lives. It doesn't mean we shoud be scared of God or our lives with God. But fear means to be in awe or reverence of God.

Why should we fear the Lord?

Provebs 3:7 - "Be not wise in thie own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil."

How should we fear God? He's a force to be reckoned with. He's the Alpha and Omega. He made the earth, the birds sing, He made the birds fly,  the creatures walking. We should respect Him and be in reverence to Him.

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

Christ went to the cross for all of us. He died for the lost and the saved.

We teach our children to fear fire, that it's hot and burns. But if we teach them to completely fear fire, they will be afraid of a simple candle. We should teach them fear of God means to respect Him. If we show them the respect of God that they should have, they would be able to walk to the throne of God.

He wants us to have a relationship with Him. He wants us to tell Him about our day, not just our problems.
